South County Road chocolate shop Peterbrooke Chocolatier offers complimentary scoops of gelato on Wednesdays.

A Palm Beach chocolate shop is giving away free scoops of gelato in celebration of National Ice Cream Month. Peterbrooke Chocolatier at 298 S County Rd. is hosting Gelato July, an annual event during which they gift a free scoop of gelato to all guests visiting Wednesdays.

“National Ice Cream Month is one of our favorite times of the year, but here at Peterbrooke we raise the stakes with our superior homemade gelato,” Peterbrooke Chocolatier manager Yuliya Artemyeva said in a press release. “While this spring and summer has certainly been unprecedented, we wanted to make sure our loyal customers and our surrounding communities had something to look forward to.”

Even though National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, the delicious treat will be celebrated at the chocolate shop all month long. Gelato aficionados can choose from 12 to 18 flavors including strawberry, chocolate chunk, caramel praline, Tahitian vanilla and white chocolate raspberry.

Peterbrooke’s traditional favorites have been selling on the island for the past two years with options like truffles, hand-made caramels in addition to gelato. Their specialties, such as chocolate-covered popcorn, cookies, pretzels, made-from-scratch marshmallows, potato chips and strawberries, are hand-dipped daily intp Peterbrooke’s chocolate.

Peterbrooke’s free-scoop special will be ongoing through the month of July. The shop opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. every day.
