Sentient Buildings, a leading cloud-based building automation company, has announced the appointment of Chris De Weaver as Managing Director.

De Weaver was previously President of New York-based Mint Green Energy, which helps owners, managers, boards and businesses lower their direct operating costs and energy expenses.

Prior to that, he was a Managing Director for FirstService Residential New York, where he helped large multifamily residential property managers, owners and developers improve their building performance.

“We are pleased to welcome Chris to our executive team,” said David Unger, CEO of Sentient Buildings.  “His extensive expertise will make him a valuable asset as we continue to expand our services throughout the New York area and beyond.”

De Weaver is responsible for growing Sentient’s business, including by forming new channel partnerships with leading energy and engineering companies. He will also work closely with the company’s core target market of large property owners and management companies.

“I strongly believe what the market needs now are buildings that are more energy efficient, sustainable and resilient,” De Weaver said. “I am enthusiastic to share with the industry how Sentient’s approach – which uses IoT, AI and sensors to deliver real time performance and improvement to buildings – is the way of the future.”
